I'm supposed to be on vacation this week.  I try to take the same week off every year to clean up the flower beds a bit and plant whatever new stuff I get. It's been raining for over a week.  I'm going in to work.  At least I'll be too busy to look out the windows and whine... I figure by the time the rain stops, I'll have to invest in a hay baler to cut the lawn... Everyone have a lovely (and dry !) day. Candy

Candy, I can relate to this rainy weather and how it's wreaking havoc on planting and lawn work, but hopefully it all drys out this weekend and it will mean getting things done. Hope you have a good day and some time this weekend to work in the yard! Hugs, Laureen

Good Morning Carla and Friends,

I'm at Clara and Hannah's until tomorrow morning.  They had their 2 month checkup and first shots yesterday. Each is almost 9 lbs and 21 inches long. They have doubled their weight since March 16th. Doctor says they are doing great. I just finished helping with a feeding. Still eating about every 3 hours 24/7.

When I'm here I try to spell either Josh or Erin. When they are by themselves they try to get a full night's sleep about every 3rd night. They have gotten good at changing and feeding the first one to rouse. Then they wake the second one, do the same and head back to catch a couple of hours. That way at least one of them gets a solid night's sleep every few days.

Breast feeding has about gone by the wayside. They are still not very good at it. Erin has gotten very efficient with the electric breast pump and supplies enough milk for about 2/3 of the feedings supplemented with formula.  She says it just takes too much time when she is there by herself to try to nurse.  Maybe next time when she just has one.

I told her not to feel guilty about it as many babies are formula raised and do fine. They are getting mostly breast milk. While I would love for her to experience the close feeling of nursing a baby I totally understand the difficulties in trying to satisfy two at the same time. It's one of those things that sounded easy on paper, not so easy in reality!

Tomorrow I head to Seattle to meet my college roomie and her mom for the cruise which begins on Saturday. We'll sail out at 4pm on Saturday returning the next Saturday, May 31st i believe. You all behave yourselves (or not!) while I'm gone. Take care,

Karen C

Karen, It's KENZO, tall white box w/long green stem and red flower on top.  They'll have it.  You'll love it. Enjoy your time. Any you can get is so precious these days. Janet

Karen, The babies are thriving nicely and I can't imagine nursing two as I felt like mine were attached to me with just one to nurse. . .  sounds as though they planned well and are doing great!  God Bless them! Hope you have a great cruise and I'll try hard not to misbehave too badly while you're away Hugs, Laureen
